About the Florida Urban Leagues

The Florida Urban Leagues Affiliates provide services in 19 counties across the State of Florida, representing two-thirds of the State's population.   FCUL is comprised of the following affiliates: Central Florida Urban League, Jacksonville Urban League, Pinellas County Urban League, Tallahassee Urban League, Urban League of Broward County,  Urban League of Greater Miami, and Urban League of Palm Beach County. Community collaborator and change-agent, Derrick Brooks Charities, partners with the FCUL and Office of the Attorney General to deliver community justice and employment programs for at-risk youth. Our life-changing programs impact nearly 100,000 Florida residents each year.

About the Urban League Movement

The National Urban League is historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization with 90 affiliates serving 300 communities, providing direct services that impact and improve the lives of more than two million people nationwide.  The mission of the Urban League movement focuses on closing the equality gaps which exist for African Americans and other emerging ethnic communities in education, economic empowerment, health and quality of life, civic engagement, and civil rights and racial justice.

Building a Culture of Resiliency Across Florida

We all know someone affected by COVID-19 - someone who has lost their job because of it, or goes to work every day on the frontlines of the crisis in healthcare, grocery, pharmacy, government and other essential roles. We also know there were families who were vulnerable before COVID, the pandemic amplified this need, and there will be need ahead for many of our neighbors.

In addition to our ongoing programming and COVID-19 crisis relief efforts, the Florida Urban Leagues and Derrick Brooks Charities are participating in #GivingTuesday, a global season of giving and unity on November 30.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to highlight the need to advance economic empowerment for underserved families, as well as our efforts to address disparities in education, income and health which existed long before this crisis. Be assured that once you donate to this statewide campaign, your money will go to help your neighbors that need it most.
