Our 2024 Legislative agenda
The Florida Consortium of Urban Leagues has been rooted in advocacy and civic engagement since the 1940s. In January 1965, under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, the Jacksonville Urban League, in partnership with the National Urban League and its Tampa and Miami affiliates, initiated the first ever statewide anti-poverty conference to emphasize the need for local anti-poverty programs.
In the spirit of their visionary freedom fighting legacy, we conduct the Power of We statewide community listening sessions. Input received from the Power of We residents and stakeholders, inform and direct our legislative priorities centering the voices and needs of our most marginalized.
